Is this normal!!

Hey i was looking at my iTunes and looked at the bottom and i have 1154 songs and 7.16 GB's!! IS that normal for only that amount of songs?? cuz 4 GB would be like 700 only for my ipod nano im getting! HELP!

its not to far off. You probobly have them all in 192 or somthing. Or they are longer than average songs.

192 was refering to the bitrate you ripped your songs at. If you want to change that you need to download a 3rd party convertion program and change the bitrate of all of your songs manually.

Ok, You have ripped your music at a higher bitrate, this is quite simple to fix.. simply open iTunes, go to Edit > Preferences, select the advanced tab, and then the importing tab and select 128kbs in the format you prefer, either MP3 or AAC (I would recommend AAC as it compresses better, giving you higher quality and taking up less space) then simply select your whole library, right-click, and select "Convert to AAC" (or MP3, depending on the format you chose) walk away from your computer for a few hours and when you get back you can delete the old (selected) files your library should then be much much smaller! - I have 4500 songs in 15GB. (128kbs AAC which is the quality equivalent of 192kbs MP3)

Thanks for the great advice iTara. Right now I am converting my songs so that when I get my nano it will all be done and I can just plug it in and go. I love iLounge and all you helpfull people!
