Hi, I rec'd the shield 4 days after ordering. Was apprehensive about using it after reading some negative comments here. Decided wtf, let me give it a shot. The front was a piece of cake. The back was tricky, well more specifically the side flaps were tricky. Had to peal it off once because i was not happy with it. But it is on there now, and I love it. Looks great and works great. Screen clarity is great too. People I show it to do cannot tell anything was added. With this you need no other case or anything, allowing you to enjoy the nano in its original state and look. No scratches, cleans super easily. Perfect. I am getting the armband for running, otherwise I am throwing it as is in a pocket with no worries. Worth the extra $$ and effort to put it on.

Do bear in mind the LCD screen though. Wouldn't want it to crack now would we?
Then again, if you can get apple to give you a new one... |

from pictures that members have posted here, it seems that the shield is one piece, and that it lays over the whole frontside of the nano right?
so what about the part that lays over the click-wheel? what happens when you click on it, wouldnt that cuase the overlay to either stretch, or gather air, altering the position and the shape of the sheet of vinyl? do i even make sense? what im really trying to ask is, how is the the click-wheel after the overlays been placed on it, any problems at all? thanks guys i also attached a picture outlining the parts that im concerned about, got this picture from a member of this forum, forgot the persons username, sorry |

I can provide some insight on this. (I posted that pic)
At first, it affected tactile feedback from the clickwheel quite a bit. Couldn't really feel that I actually pushed the button sections on the wheel. It also had a bit of a life of its own, as commented by some of the users here. The adhesive on the back has to set properly, and this can take a few days apparently. Now, about a week after, tactile feedback is back and I'm happier than ever! No problem telling whether I'm pushing buttons, and the texture of the film has improved precision when scrolling (for me, at least). The film doesn't move, and air doesn't get trapped under it as the fit is very tight. So, nothing to worry about. Simply give it Time™! |

so, from what i'm gathering from your post, when you click the clickwheel now, it's like as if nothing is on it? like using it without a skin even on it? i'm not talking about the feel or texture, more about the use - the actual action of pressing it
also, it scrolls at "normal" speed? |

I am planning to get my first Ipod.
I plan to get the Nano but I have been hearing lots of people saying how easily it gets scratched up. I did some research and found out about the Invisible Shield. This thing looks great. But I got a few questions. Since I am probably going to get the Black Nano, if I apply the Invisible Shield on, would it lose itz shineness of it? Does it lose itz sleekness when you put it on? Or does it actually look better, or no difference. And also, when you put the invisible shield on, can you really tell if there is an invisible shield on? Or is it very hard to tell, like almost impossible to tell unless you look real closely. (I ask this question because I haven't seen an Ipod Nano in person actually so I can't judge about anything.) Is applying the Invisible Shield very hard to do? I saw the intruction about dipping it into soapy water. That step will make me nervous about doing it. Did any of you guys have lots of problem when applying it? And also, since I heard the black Nano gets scratched the easiest, when applying the invisible shield, would you actually scratch up u're IPOD when applying it? How will you avoid that? Thanks. |

Like many of you, I'm considering the invisible shield and Powersupport film.
The invisible shield covers the entire body of the nano, but there seem to be unavoidable air pockets around the click wheel which give away the presence of the film. With the powersupport film you can avoid this problem by not covering the click wheel, and if you do cover it, it looks like the 3D cover has a good fit. I emailed the invisibleshield people and they said that they're designing a version with a cutout for the wheel that should be announced or out later this week. So my question is do you guys feel clickwheel protection is necessary or not? I would like not to have to cover the clickwheel for 1. Visual reasons. The matte contrast is appealing. 2. Usabilty reasons. Nothing between your finger and the ipod = good haptic feedback and feel. |
