IMO it didn't seem like the nano had a volume cap..
i always use euPod Pro on my 3G set at 60% boost, and used the nano with 50% boost, which totally blew it away.. took the boost off, and it sounded normal.. ![]() HTH

I don't have it uncapped and my volume at just under 50% on a 4G, anymore would literally blow my ear drums apart!! It's all down to the earphones and impedance etc.

There doesn't seem to be a cap on my UK Nano. It was the same with my shuffle. The nano is far louder then my UK mini.

Could it be that they have either abandoned the cap in the UK and it's simply French ones that are now capped, or is it that the first batch out of the factory (in both the shuffle's and nano's case) are universal, non-capped ipods? I ordered my nano and shuffle within seconds of their respective announcments and maybe they just shipped them straight out without regard for which territory they were going to? Either way, I believe the evidence of my own ears: my nano is not capped |

I just got my Nano delivered from Apple today, so I haven't loaded any songs on it, but I did notice that it has a rather nasty sticker on the back (nasty in the sense of difficult to remove cleanly) which warns in French that prolonged use at high volumes may damage the user's hearing. I don't recall that being on EU iPods, which does suggest to me that the warning message may be in place of the volume cap.
