Hm... Maybe your screen name will help
![]() Well. Ok. 2 things will determine it. 1. Excercise and just walking or both. 2. How much music do you plan on having on the iPod?

Got a 4Gb black Nano about 2 months ago and I use it daily at the gym as well as running in the city. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL! Truly an awesome piece, although the library size is slightly limited. I find that it's even better if you already have a larger size iPod with all your collection. That way, it's only for portable convenience and the #Gb doesn't really matter.
The flash drive as I've learned can die after about 300,000 writes. For every file you write, it actually uses 3 so you got about 100,000 writes. I guarantee you'll have another ipod and have already sold your nano on ebay by the time that day comes. No worries. -Peace |

Nano is awesome, but BEFORE you buy it, you must buy a hard plastic case. I got an XtremeMac Microshield. No scratches still after 2 months of regular use and removing it from the case to put it into my arm band for the gym. DEFINITELY A NANO!!

Lol. I live in California, and I have all my life. I don't know any other languages, but lemme clear up what I said, cause I was sleepy when I posted that.
The post I made was a reply to wannanano, and I was saying (Or trying to) that Nanos are better than video in terms of use in excercise and if you have a smaller playlist.

Hey, everybody. Just purchased my first iPod last week (white 4G Nano) and thought I'd post some impressions.
First, the size of the device is really impressive. Coming from Walkman type CD players, this is refreshing. Not that the CD players are big, but the Nano is SO small. At 160 kbps, I was able to shoehorn 652 songs onboard. Still playing around with sound quality and whatnot, but that is a ton of music. Roughly 60 albums to choose from at any given time is plenty for now. As has been mentioned before, ad nauseum, the earbuds aren't very good (or very comfortable). I've always had pretty ritzy tastes when it comes to audio, so I did some research and have a pair of UE super.fi 5 Pros on order. Should be here in a few days. Looking forward to them. I'll reserve judgement on the sound quality of the iPod untill I get the new earphones, but so far so good. I was jamming a Thelonious Monk/John Coltrane album last night (the excellent At Carnegie Hall), and it sounded pretty damn good. Jazz usually does though. All in all, a very good first week. Looking forward to some more portable jamming.

Bought mine last 2 weeks. I went for small size and no moving parts instead of big storage + hard disk. Glad I did; the nano is quite responsive. I simply love it
. With my Sen's PX-100 and hip hop EQ settings the sound is wonderful. On my commute to/from work I use the Apple in-ear. They sounds great but the fit is so/so. I may order some Shure e2c foams to see.Nano @ cheap price? I think it still doesn't exists!! Demand is still quite strong and prices won't come down. You could find a used nano on ebay but it will probably be heavily scratched since they are often store demos. I made the decision of buying brand new. If you can't afford the 4gB, go for the 2 or even the 1gb. Look in the classifieds here. It's kinda funny how people want their WHOLE music library with them . How many albums will ya listen in a day? 3 to 6? It's far enough. I could afford the 4GB so I got it, but I would have not hesitate going for the 2 or even the 1gb. I just tought the price difference between the 2 and the 4 wasn't big enough and was affraid regretting it .

Well, the black 4GB nano has changed my listening habits for very much the better - the music sounds so great, especially when using Exact Audio Copy and lame mp3 ripping.
But after three or four battery charges, I've yet to get up to 10 hours of life - more of about 8 hours tops. Could it be because I listen to longer pieces (symphonies etc.) that can last from 15 to 45 minutes? Does the constant scrolling titles of the long titles use up more power? |

Just got my Ipod Nano four days ago and I love it. I used to own a Rio MP3 player and the first one I had died in 2 weeks and the second lasted seven months. That was over two years ago. I am now so very happy that I have something to fall asleep to again since I am a severe insomniac (meaning meds don't really help). The only thing I have bought so far was a set of Phillips ear buds since the stock ones hurt my ears and so did the Sony EXs. I was lucky to get this little guy and a case for my birthday. So now I sleep, walk and use it in the car. It's just splendid!
