The bug that caused the wrong date to show in "Photo Library" has been fixed with iTunes 4.8. I cleared the photo database and resynced my photos. The correct date now shows in the title bar of the iPod.
I don't know if this will happen without clearing the iPod photo cache like I did. This is on Windows if you are wondering.

It didn't make any difference with my iPod even with deleting the cache.

Really? I used to get "Feb 2040" for everything before it.
Try deleting the cache from "My Pictures"

Works for me! Deleted cache & re-synced:
1. Starting thumbnails shows the directory name 2. Thereafter, the month & yr of the photo (from EXIF data, apparently) shows in the title bar. 3. For photos w/o EXIF data, the "Feb 2040" title remains... Unfortunately, though, some pics still suffer from the portrait/landscape orientation error... Thx, Frank Last edited by Frank (Atlanta); 05-14-2005 at 09:23 AM. |

Don't think you need to clear all photos from your iPod photo - just your photo cache.
Go to the subdirectory where you keep all your photos and delete the "ipod photo cache" folder. When you re-sync, iTunes will rebuild this cache and it appears that will address the Feb 2040 issue...provided the exif data's in the photo. If you do want to clear all your photos from your iPod, I guess you could uncheck all the photo folders to which you sync your iPod then let the iPod re-sync (would remove the photos from your iPod). You could then then re-check these boxes and re-sync (to place the photos back on your iPod). I don't think, however, that you need to clear your photos to address the Feb 2040 issue - just delete your cache. Thx, Frank |

I've deleted the photo cache and re-synced my iPod and still have the Feb 2040 problem. All my photos have EXIF data in them so that isn;t the cause of the problem.

Phil,
That's strange - you obviously have the date info... May be too time consuming, but you could try "restoring" your iPod photo via the updater. I don't know if this would help...just an unabashed stab in the dark. Good luck, Frank |

My 2040 bug went away. Now the photos reflect the date that they were imported into Adobe Photo Album, rather than the date when they were taken. Which strikes me as odd...
