Fastest Way to upload Cd's into iTunes

I have Plextor CDRW drive 40/24/40, the fastest I can upload a cd is 4.5X, is there a faster way to upload into iTunes, I have about 1000 cd's to upload, and the average time to upload a cd is about 10 minutes. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure the error correction option is turned OFF.
Buy a faster processor. My Athlon 2800+ rips CDs at 18-20x.

Heh. Yeah, I can imagine how that would bring you down. I had about 50 CDs when I ripped for my iPod on a 3-5x tops, and it took about one weekend to do so. I then got a new computer Athlon XP-M and it rips at 26x tops. Woot.

There is probably no solution to your problem with that CD drive.
