I need a new battery in my 3G - i am told that this model is the hardest to change, should i have a go? or send off for it to be done? its out of warranty and wouldn't want to ruin it myself!

I did my 3G in about 3 minutes. It depends on the individual. Watch the video on this web site:
http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_cente...d/3g/high.html This should be able to help you judge whether you would want to attempt it yourself. |

Do you have to get the battery from apple, because ive come across the site http://shop.ipodworld.co.uk/iPodWorl...Power/OW01.htm
where they will do it for you, but im wondering if it matters if its not an apple battery. |

I haven't done it, but I will when the time comes.
One tip I've read about it was that a thin guitar pick is a good tool for opening the case. I wish I had more, but hey, it's a start. Good luck! |
