Exclamation 3G Battery change

I need a new battery in my 3G - i am told that this model is the hardest to change, should i have a go? or send off for it to be done? its out of warranty and wouldn't want to ruin it myself!

I did my 3G in about 3 minutes. It depends on the individual. Watch the video on this web site:

This should be able to help you judge whether you would want to attempt it yourself.

Do you have to get the battery from apple, because ive come across the site http://shop.ipodworld.co.uk/iPodWorl...Power/OW01.htm

where they will do it for you, but im wondering if it matters if its not an apple battery.

I haven't done it, but I will when the time comes.

One tip I've read about it was that a thin guitar pick is a good tool for opening the case. I wish I had more, but hey, it's a start. Good luck!
