using EUPOD without getting re-sync??

hi
is anyone using EUPOD (volumeboost) on *auto-sync*
successfully without getting the re-sync (of all the songs in your library back onto your ipod) directly after??

- I know about boosting to 0 then desired level - but I'm scared that when I connect ipod to the pc now it will just re-import all the songs again - any help from anyone using Eupod while on auto-sync would be appreciated!!

No I have allways had problems with EUPod. People can say what they want to about Microsoft. But, EUPod is the epiphany of bad Software, bare-None!

I do not know where you are from or what your purpose for wanting to use EUPod might be. If I were suspect of the fact that you were looking for a workable solution to the European Volume Restriction Cap. Then there are way better, safer, quicker ways to semi-permanently remove it forever!

These programs are called iMod and GoPod, I'm not sure what ever happend to iMod (it was the first of it's kind and PC only), but, it's almost no longer to be found on the Net.

The other thankfully can! Just google for 'GoPod' and hit the 'I'm Felling Lucky!' to get to the GoPod Homepage where you can Download Versions for *nix, Mac and Windows.

Just NOTE!; This is only applicable for European iPods (which ever Region Codes those maybe. I only know of One because it's the One I live in! i.e. FD - France / Germany),. However there are others as well. If your iPod has an 'LL' Region Code. DO NOT RUN THIS SOFTWARE! YOU DO NOT NEED IT!!

'LL' - US/Can; Your iPods are uncaped to begin with. Running such Software could damage your iPodOS. Upshot beeing you'd need to do a full Restore, thereby lossing everything on that iPod.

I gave up on EuPod, it used to work really well until Apple changed something in the database. Now it's just a nightmare, I tried the creators instructions to the letter and it still re-synced my library.
It's funny that other applications like Anapod and Foobar can still adjust the volume via the database without these re-sync's.

Do yourself a favour and just use the iTunes volume slider. It does exactly the same thing, but just takes a bit longer the first time.

PS Don't crosspost, it's against the rules. Post your question once in the appropriate section and someone will answer it eventually. Have patience and avoid a scolding from the mods.

Or just use GoPod and just like a Smart-Bomb, you can 'Fire and Forget ' the entire Volume Cap...

did you try it on manual sync? apparently if you set it to that and not auto then it won't re-sync after it's been boosted??

- thing is I'm not sure how you 'manually' import songs to the ipod??? - I read drag and drop?? - but is it stored on the ipod the same as when it auto-syncs...seems too fast a way of doing it?

My experience is that when u drag and drop, the newly added songs will go to the back of the library/playlist. To resolve this, click on your iPod icon on the left in the iTunes (the box with your library, playlist, etc) to assess the tracks in your iPod and arrange from there.

I prefer auto, it's just easier. The only time I would use manual was if I had more music than iPod space. I sure wouldn't use it just for EuPod as there are other ways around the volume problem as mentioned.

Yes, the slider does exactly the same thing as EuPod.
GoPod is good as well (and works) but you can get louder volume through the slider (GoPod is equivelant to around a 30% boost on the slider), besides I am always wary of "hacking" something I paid £270 for. You never know although I've not heard of any problems reported with GoPod/ iMod and I used it myself for a while but decided to stick to the "official" methods.

GoPod is different from the slider in that it removes the volume limit once and for all, so you don't have to adjust the slider for every album/ song you load up. The only time you need to re-apply it is if you do a restore on your iPod.

i think i worked out a way of doing it!!

- great as didn't really want to import all the songs again as takes too long

it's a bit fiddly but it seems to work!!!

if you (or anyone) wants to know this exact way of doing it let me know and I will post it

I'm happy as I was always very happy with eupod and like to auto sync
