Post iPod Photo, should I or shouldn't I?

I was looking forward to purchasing a new iPod Photo 30 in May having been attracted to its slim line design. However, I have heard so many stories about the numerous glitches I am wondering whether I should just buy an iPod mini. Does it seem that the majority of iPod’s suffer this nonsense or is it only a small minority? Suddenly a Zen is beginning to look appealing. If this topic has already been addressed please accept a new member’s apology…

Its just seems about 50-100 porblems, and those problems are only heard of by people coming here.
Looking at the bigger picture it is about 100 out of the 3,000,000 plus which apple have sold.
Just small problems which you are hearing about.

It’s most annoying as in theory computers should be nothing if not consistent, yet as a programmer I know they are far from it… Thanks for replying Blackmane.

I am very happy with my iPod photo. The only "glitch" I experience is that the date shows wrong when browsing my photo library - easily fixed with an update.

Yep, I have the photo 60gig and have had only a few minor glitches that were quickly corrected by reset. (Remember that's a quick reboot of the iPod and NOT the same as a reformat which would be a much bigger deal!)

I don't know much about other mp3 players, so I can't really speak to that...

i just got an iPod Photo 60Gb and i'm enjoying every minute with it. I am also a newbie here, and I'm not familiar in any way with iPods that's why I thought it was a problem then that iPod "freezes", solved by soft reset.

if your looking for other players, consider iRivers. Feature-wise they are good.
