I want to sell my 4g Ipod, but it has my name engraved on it.
HOW DO I TAKE IT OFF?!?!
I imagine i take a powered brush and just shave it off.
is there a product?

You will ruin the back of the ipod. The aluminum back is chrome plated, so to remove or hide the engraving you will have to go deep into the back itself, destroying it in the process and who wants to buy that?

Engraving your name or anything else that is personal or identifies you in anyway, does one thing. Make an ipod unsellable. Should have put some thought into it before you engraved it.

Apple probably gives out free engravings so people cant return their ipods..

try doing that "brushed chrome" trick to get rid of an engraving

You can return an engraved iPod to Apple the same as you can return a non-engraved iPod to Apple.

Where did you get the idea that you can't return an engraved iPod? Obviously, the return needs to be for valid reasons: it doesn't work, it's faulty in some way, etc.

I got this from The Apple Store's return policy (I was saying you couldn't return engraved ipods from Apple... im assuming Apple is the only maker of ipods that engrave right now)

under "RETURN & REFUND POLICY " it says:

Please note that Apple does not permit the return of or offer refunds for the following products:

(skipping to #5)
5. Personalized iPods

Assuming personalized ipods includes engravings..

Ah... I was thinking about their repair policy -- they'll repair any engraved iPod, and if they can't repair it, they'll replace it with another iPod and re-engrave it.

My mistake! I apologize...
