Question reset settings after a day

i have a 4th gen 40gig ipod. I am having a problem with it. When the ipod is not used for a long or even short time, the setting reset back to factory. The clicker turns on, and eq settings change. Is there a way to fix this. Someone came into an irc chat room with the same problem and we could not find a solution. I tried to reset to factory and it still does it, i tried to latest updates and they still do not work.

Please help,
Thanks in advance,
Mooman

Well, if you don't use your iPod for more than a day then the setting will go back to normal except that your back light settings should remain the same.

If not then I would try restoring your iPod with the latest iPod updater software.

It is normal for your iPod to boot up (ie you see the Apple logo) if you don't use your iPod for more than one day.

I think that's generous to call it normal to lose setting due to overly frequent soft resets.

Among those who view it as a bug, there's the start of a discussion with links to other discussions at http://discussions.info.apple.com/we....3@.68a69666/1

The really crappy part is the music game, it doesn't reconize the songs. My friend wanted to see what an ipod could do and he thought it was worthless spending the money if it didn't even get to work. Thanks for the info btw
