PLease can anyone help me as i am trying to copy my freinds itunes onto my ipod?i can do this but it wipes off my songs???

when you connect your ipod to your friend's computer, hold ctrl+shift until the ipod appears on your computer. this enables manual updates to your ipod so you can put put the songs you want on your ipod

That's only the first step; it'll prevent the auto-sync, but then you have to go into iTunes preferences and change the update option to manual. Then you can drag songs onto your iPod, and when you hook it up to your computer it'll still be in manual and the songs won't be deleted. Keep in mind, though, that until the songs you took from your friend are in your iTunes, you'll have to stay in manual mode. To take them off your iPod and put them into your iTunes, download a program like iPodAgent from this site's downloads section.
