What you need to do is set your iPod as a hard drive (you can do it in iTunes). Then in windows explorer copy and paste your music files onto the iPod drive. When you plug it into your new computer, presto! Accessible and copyable music files.
But you can't play them off the iPod if they're stored in the hard drive.
