frusterating. my bran new ipod now only has ten songs on it, the songs in my library. I've used to have 500 songs or so. where did they all go?!!!!!!!!!! I did right click on the myipod icon to the left in ITUNES, and said I wanted it to auto update since the new music downloads weren't updating on the ipod. Next thing I know, I've got only ten songs left on the iPod. ERROR: Cannot update ipod becuase the required folder cannot be found.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I don't keep the songs on my laptop hardrive in the library or anywere else because it is a work computer. please help. anybody want this piece of junk? Last edited by jcma25; 01-22-2005 at 04:36 PM. |

Not having your songs on your hard drive is exactly why the songs went missing when you auto updated / sync'ed your iPod.
Your iPod thought that those other songs were deleted from your hard drive and so only put those 10 "new" songs on the iPod. If your not going to have the songs on your hard drive you should have the iPod in manual mode so that you won't lose all those songs like that. Never auto sync without any songs on the hard drive because it will delete all the songs on your iPod.
