How do you delete songs on the ipod?

You plug it into your computer and then in iTunes delete the song from your ipod directory.

And just to add on, you can't delete the songs directly from your iPod

if you want to keep the song in your library, but don't want it on your iPod, just click the little check mark beside the song name and re-sync your iPod.
