help after restoring ipod

i have been having trouble getting my 3g ipod to connect through a usb to my computer. so i downloaded the ipod update and when i plugged the ipod in and ran the program the only option was to click restore. so now the only thing that shows up on my ipod is the apple logo. i cant do anything else but reset it. so i was wondering if anyone knows what i can do to make it do something other than show the apple logo. thanks

Did the restore process complete? You need to restore the iPod and make sure that it completes the process. Try doing it again. If you don't have a warranty on the iPod, you need to try and fix it yourself. If nothing is showing up on the screen but the logo a 'restore' is in order.

well the thing is all that is on there is the apple logo. it wont go off so if what you said is true it must be still restoring. but it has been like that for a day now. when i go back to the updater it says plug in ipod but it is already in. and the two options are update or restore and i cant click on either of them so i dont know what to do now. the ipod worked fine before i clicked the restore button except my computer wouldnt read it, but it seems alot of people have that problem so anything else would help......
