I have my iPod with me whenever I'm out of the house. I generally drop it right into the dock as soon as I get home and leave it there overnight.

In the morning, I'll sometimes do one last sync (in case anything's changed... I play my music through methods other than my iPod, so sometimes it's valuable to ensure that playcounts are updated), and then off I go...

I always have my iPod charging in the Dock whenever I'm not using it, so essentially it's always charging even if the battery hasn't been run down completely...

I try to let mine run down about 3/4 of the way before I charge it and I try to NEVER let it drain all the way.

I charge mine at night when I go to sleep. It depends on how much I used it that day to determine how much the battery drains. I never let it drain all the way though.

It's charging whenever I'm at home and not using it.
I'd advise against letting lith-ion batteries drain completely, as it depletes the number of charge cycles.

Yeah, I just stick mine in the dock all the time I'm at home and not using it. Whatever way you use it it all adds up to the same number of charge cycles really, draining it to half then recharging it to full twice still counts as one charge cycle. So whatever way you use it the battery will die at pretty much the same point. So it makes sense for me to keep it on charge the whole time I am home, then whenever I need to go out it is fully charged.

Mine is pretty much always charged, whether it be via the AC Adaptor or FireWire. The reason being the fact that I sync a lot and it leaves the house often, which requires a decent amount of battery power.. So mine very rarely ever dies, unless I use it for long periods of time away from my iBook or outlet..

No need to fully charge or fully discharge. If you want to maximize life, use shallow cycles - don't let it get too low and don't always top it up. Also, store it in a cool place. This will decelerate the ageing process. I would'nt lose any sleep over this though. The battery will eventually die of old age whether you cycle it frequenty or not.

The biggest risk of serious damage would result from fully discharging it and then leaving it for an extended period. It will slowly self-discharge and once a lithium polymer cell drops too low (below about 2.5V) the battery will be permanently damaged.
