Question Enable Disk Use Without iTunes?

My iPod has all my music on it, but my computer had to have windows reinstalled and I lost all my music on my desktop. I know if I reinstall iTunes and connect my iPod I will lose all my music and I cannot let that happen. I have tried iPod Agent, but it says my iPod does not have disk use enabled (which I think it does anyways since I had it on manual sync previously).

Is there a way that I can transfer my music from my iPod to my desktop without disk use enabled? Or is there a way to enable disk use without iTunes?

I have a 40GB iPod connect to an XP Pro computer.

When I connect my iPod it connects, then disconnects, then connects, then disconnects, over and over again, not allowing me to use Agent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Drew

Try putting it into forced disk mode before connecting.

It worked to set it to disk use, but the problems are as follows:

1. It connects and disconnects and ultimately disconnects the ipod when it is connected into the USB port.

2. Even though disk use is enabled, iPod Agent still says "disk use is not enabled" and does not recognize the iPod is connected.

Any further ideas?

Very odd.

Glad it worked out for you in the end.
