Just received my Ipod Skin from Speck and found it to be a great item for covering the Ipod to prevent scratching, abrasion, etc.
http://www.speckproducts.com I have the 30 Gig Ipod that is a bit thicker than the other Gen 3 units but find the Skin to fit nicely. It's definitely a tight fit but that's fine as I don't want the cover sliding around and covering up the buttons. The one benefit that I didn't realize was the nice "grippiness" the cover adds to the Ipod.................now it doesn't slide around and stays put! The flip cover over the dock connector works great and is easy to slide back over the bottom of the Ipod when not on the dock. Looks really nice and does the job...................I highly recommend it!

I ordered mine on the 30th of July and I can't wait to get it. I purchased a 10 GB iPod two weeks ago to replace my original 5 GB and do you know how frustrating it is not wanting to use it due to possible scratches?
I hope to post some pics when I get the case. Thanks. |

I really like the dock connector flap too. The iskins may have cool colors and a belt clip, but pulling my ipod bottom through a hole in a $30 case doesn't appeal to me. I'd be afraid of stretching it out over time. The Speck solution is much easier. There is also a little nub in the bottom flap that fits into the dock connector when closed. It helps keep the bottom shut at all times. Overall it's a nice case. Especially for the price. Mike |

I have both the Speck and eXo cases. I actually bought the eXo after being disappointed with the Speck case fit on my 15Gig iPod; which was too lose for my taste. For example, the fit around the buttons is very loose with the Speck case, unlike the eXo. So much so, that the silicon bubbles upwards allowing debris to easily enter the space between the iPod and the case. The eXo on the other hand, fits perfectly. Additionally, I really like the full coverage the eXo offers when compared to the open space on the top part of the Speck case. Many people have complained about the hold button being difficult to slide when using the eXo case, but I find that it is not that hard at all.
I really liked the Speck's flip bottom for easy docking, but the eXo's method for docking is not as bad as I thought. The eXo material is extremely flexible and seems to be very durable. In fact, I find that removing the Speck bottom flip is harder than stretching the eXo in order to expose the bottom part of my iPod for docking. With that said, I have three Speck cases that are not being used (I bought the three case bundle), so if anybody is interested I will sell them for a very competitive price. playero |

Maybe I'm lucky I'm using it on a 30gig because mine fits tight as a glove..........no movement around the buttons at all.
I find the bottom cover very easy to flip open and closed also. If I ever need a replacement I wouldn't hesitate getting another one fro Speck.
