All:
I just got my 15GB from Dell (10% off). It is working as advertised (that is, very well). I had read some posts about people getting the Best Buy protection plan on players that they had not actually bought at Best Buy. Is this true? I tried to do this today, and the manager told me that he would not do it. So, if this is possible, could someone please tell me which Best Buy in the East or South Bay Area will do this? Alternately, will CompUSA allow people to get the service plan on players not bought from them? Thanks. n |

No, you can't get the Best Buy plan unless you bought the ipod from Best Buy. You can still get a TAP from CompUSA though.

What would you need to bring to Compusa to get the TAP (i.e. receipt, ipod, upc code)? I am asking because I bought my ipod from an internet forum, so I do not have a receipt.
