I got a new Mini tonight and started with a clean, new install of WinXP Pro with SP2. I downloaded I-Tunes 4.6 and added my 61 GB music folder.
I used the setup disc to configure my I-Pod and everything is fine until I -Tunes loads. It forces a 4 GB playlist onto the Mini and when it's done the tunes are all there. But when I reconnet the I-Pod later, I get [BOLD]"The I-Pod Administrator's I-Pod cannot be updated. The required folder cannot be found."[/BOLD] Then I-Tunes ejects the I-Pod. I can't do anything with it at this point. Can't sync, update or even browse. Any suggestions? TIA

Sounds like you have auto sync selected. Try selecting Manual Sync.

Yeah, I tried that too. But the minute I connect the I-Pod, I get that error message.

Also, every time I connect the Mini, it changes the setting back to Automatically update then ejects the device without warning

Wait, I have a better idea. Put this in the garbage disposal and get a new device to play portable audio. Apple tech support was unable to fix it and the Apple store at the Bellevue Square Mall refused to let me return the player. Luckily, my disposal works just fine.

Put in a service request on the Apple site (http://www.apple.com/support/ipod)
