Hi, im new to this site, hopefully you'll be able to give me some advice.

on the 4th of this month i ordered a custom engraved Ipod 4G 20GB. Now on the 11th september the apple order status says "shipped". I have checked apecode and got the following..

07 sep 04 30 60 departed from product source Apple, Shanghai
07 sep 04 05 00 boxes scanned Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
07 sep 04 00 05 Data received from supplier Apple, Shanghai

What does this mean (is it on its way? On transit to Luxembourg to be piucked up by TNT yet?)

Also could someone please hazard a guess at a delivery date?

Yes, it is on it's way. The shipper has received it and it's associated paperwork. It is probably in transit. Anytime it says "scanned in" it means it has reached a point of departure or arrival for the shipping agency.....

Within 2 weeks, hopefully sooner. What sort of shipping did you purchase with it?

Regular shipping. UK deliveries cant get the High Speed Shipping. Believe me id have paid for it.

So if it left Shanghai on the 7th and its now the 11th its should arrive in Luxembourg (where its to be transferred to TNT the courier service) pretty soon. Maybe tommorow? Or is that wishfull thinking.

And mine isn't on the tnt tracker yet ! So even monday might be pushing it.

They say "3 to 7 working days from shipping"

so:
07 sep 04 Tuesday = 1 working day
08 sep 04 Wednesday = 2 working days
09 sep 04 Thursday= 3 working days
10 sep 04 Friday = 4 working days
11 sep 04 Saturday = 5 working days
12 sep 04 Sunday = Doesn't count (sunday)
13 sep 04 Monday = 6 working days
14 sep 04 Tuesday = 7 working days

So you've got until tuesday until you can phone them up and shout at them.

Mine is:
03 sep 04 Friday = 1 working day
04 sep 04 Saturday = 2 working days
05 sep 04 Sunday = Doesn't count
06 sep 04 Monday = 3 working days
07 sep 04 Tuesday = 4 working days
08 sep 04 Wednesday = 5 working days
09 sep 04 Thursday = 6 working days
10 sep 04 Friday = 7 working days
11 sep 04 Saturday = 8 working days
12 sep 04 Sunday = Doesn't count
13 sep 04 Monday = 9 working days

Its the 12th now, so they are deffinately going to be 2 days over their estimate, and seeing as I cannot even use TNT Tracker yet indicates that it hasnt even left netherlands yet, so more probably tuesday.

SO what your sayin is basically if its not on the TNT tracker by tuesday. I should phone up apple?

I'm saying if you don't recieve it by tuesday then you should phone up apple. This is assuming that saturday is a working day in their eyes, if not then you could be waiting up until wednesday.

Thinking about it, saturday probably isnt a working day in their eyes, so if mine comes on monday then they are on the edge of their limit.

Well theres no change on the Apecode site today (maybe because its Sunday?) Cool hopefully ill have it by tuesday. Cause im out of my house for 3 days beginning next friday. I hate waiting, makes me worried.

So does "Departed direct" mean its just eft shanghai? Or is it on its way to my house. 6 days in shanghai seem a long time so im guessing its the later.
