Anyone know how to set the iPod to shuffle, but not shuffle all songs, only those from an individual playlist?
Cheers.

In "settings" you should be able to shuffle songs, and then if you play from within a playlist it should shuffle the playlist only.

There is a setting in settings for shuffle. You can turn shuffle on here and then when you select a playlist to play it will shuffle just the songs in this playlist. Having shuffle on in the settings will apply shuffle across the board so any songs you play while shuffle is on in settings will shuffle music. You can also select to shuffle by album here.
At present there is no way to tell the iPod to shuffle one playlist and to not shuffle others. Stuart

The manual in the 4G 40GB ipod instructs you if you want to shuffle a playlist once , is to play it then navigate to the main menu and choose ???shuffle songs???. But this actually doesn???t work, cause when you do so, its shuffles all the music in the ipod, and not just the playing playlist. This could be a flaw in the firmware. Here is the documentation from the manual ???You can shuffle or reshuffle songs you are already playing, or you can set iPod to shuffle songs or albums every time you play a song. To shuffle or reshuffle songs you are already playing: n Select Shuffle Songs from the iPod main menu. If you select Shuffle Songs when no songs are playing, iPod begins playing songs from your entire music library in random order. To set iPod to shuffle songs or albums every time you play a song: 1 Select Settings from the iPod main menu. 2 Set Shuffle to Songs or to Albums.??? |

we all know that it shuffles every song. it does suck. i was hoping that the shuffle feature would work as a browse feature but would shuffle the playlist/cd/artist you choose, and then youd use the normal browse to play without shuffling.
