Unhappy headphones are stuffed

hi everyone! today when i was walking home from school, i was listening to my ipod (of course), and i noticed that when some bass comes on, it makes a realy distorted kind of bass, it's really weird.

So i am planning to ring up apple and post me some new ones (first of all, is this what i should do) or email them. And secondly i'll probbaly hit with all these quesitons e.g what type of headphones...so my other question is, what type of headhpones are the original stock buds that come with the mini called? besides "the normal stock buds that came with my mini".

Thanks heaps guys!!

Do you have the EQ turned on? If so, turn it off and try the songs again. If the problem is still there, it very well could be defective headphones. And I'd just explain that the headphones are "the normal stock buds that came with my Mini".

i recently had to get a new set of earbuds (thats what apple call them )

I went to the support section of the apple website and made a service request for the earbuds, 2 days later they were on my doorstep, and apple didnt want the old ones back.

Hope this helps

Actually, that's what everyone calls in-ear headphones--Earbuds.

If yours are on the fritz though, you might as well take the opportunity to replace them with something better. The Sony ones are a marked improvement, but of course there's even better choices than that. There's a whole forum for that here though.

i've sent in a report, but i didn't get an email back confirmin it or anything, is this normal? coz i may have made a spelling mistake on my email, but if you never got an email, then i suppose it's fine, should i leave it or send in another one and make sure my email is spelt right? because otherwise i could be waiting for ages for something that will never come...im confused:S thnx

Earbud replacement request

I also filed a claim and they never replied. Actually, the status changed to "Closed" with no data available. So I did it a second time with the same result. I've sent 4 emails to their support (which they claim will respond in 24 hours) and have received zero replies. I thought their support was supposed to be good?

I finally got it it though (i personally dont have the money to spend on new heaphones when i can get reasonably good ones for free-im only 15). They sent me an email to say they were on their way, but on the apple site where it says you can check your status, it says there is no record of that or something along those lines.

And Dman, it took me 4 emails beofre they replied, but after the third time i tried registering my iPod online (i already had registered it, but not online if you get what i mean).

Then i got a confirmation email of my registered mini, and i tried the service form, and it worked...i almost imediately got an email from apple saying the headphones would be one their way in teh mail...thanx for the help guys.

I just sent in my request

I just realized that my right ear is NOT going deaf... and that my right earbud has lost it's bass and most of its output. It is VERY quiet and tinny. So, I went to the support and registered and then sent off a service request. I immediately got a response back in my email, but it didn't necessarily say that they were mailing new ones. They just said they will send out the request (a box to mail my product to them). I REALLY hope they just send the new earbuds. I LOVE my earbuds and use them all the time because (for me) they are the most comfortable and compact pair of headphones I have ever owned. (besides those really comfy ones I got in my original gameboy package when it first came out in 1990).
