Reading the post about the supposed 40G MINI in Dubai got me thinking. Are there great savings to be had with purchasing an iPod overseas? And are there any issues? Anything different about the units? My Dad is a pilot and flies overseas regularly so I may be able to get him to pick one up for me.
Thanks all! |

So an iPod purchased outside of the US along with the power adapter kit Apple sells (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...nMore=M8794G/B) would be identical to what I could have purchached at a store in Anywhere, US?
Hmmm ... wonder where my Dad is right now?

What are you talking about? iPods are more expensive outside the US. I wish I had the access you guys have (plus the support and available refunds!). The lowest prices I ever saw were in the US.

I admit that I don't know a whole lot about purchasing items overseas. I was thinking the exchange rate may make one come out cheaper. (I realize the Euro-Dollar conversion would come out counter-productive) But, if the prices overseas are higher to begin with, this may not help. I know every now and then my Dad would bring home a digicam or other gadget, but I'm not sure from where. My main question was whether there were any differences in the units themselves (...aside from the volume thing on European ones).
