Right now I have my itunes and all my music on our desktop PC.
In a couple of weeks my gf and I are both getting new notebooks. She and I are going to download itunes from Apple onto our respective laptops so she can manage her music on her computer and I can do so on mine. Now..I plan to load everything, all 15GBs (of my music) onto my 20GB ipod. When I hook my ipod up to my new laptop..will I be able to just copy the music folder (in disk mode) to my laptops 'my music' folder? And then import it into itunes? If 'not' then what do I need to do to transfer my music over? Thanks. |

You'll need to use a program called iPod Agent to transfer your music over, which you can get from the downloads section of this site.

For your purposes, which are similar to mine, I would highly recommend some additional software for iPod management. Personally I use Anapod Explorer.
I maintain my music library on multiple computers and I want to simply plug in my iPod and be able to quickly sync both ways. iTunes will never let you do this. Anapod has a quick sync function that compares your iPod to your music library on your PC and tells you which files are missing on which side. Then you click a button and it will automatically copy the missing files both ways. Cheers. |
