Hi all. Im looking forward to getting the 4G 20 GB ipod but i was sorta thinking. I currently own a Zen Nomad Xtra 30 GB. Its nice except for the fact that:
1) its very bulky and uncomfortable when put into your pocket 2) the software that comes with it is not nearly as easy to use as iPod and iTunes 3) i dont like the way they organize the songs...very bad >< 4) Controls are sorta a hassle 5) Scroll Delay. I have 20 Gigs of music on it and when u scroll, it lags >< Now i can ebay it for about 150-160 b4 its sold off...then i can scrounge up another 100-150 dollars to get the iPod w/ student discount. The thing that led me to an ipod was the fact that it was so small and portable, the easy to use interface, excellent software, looks, organizing of music, no scroll delay, many nice accessories. The thing that im most worried about is the battery life of the ipod and when the battery dies...nothing a little extra warranty cant handle but anyways, i was curious if this swap is wortht he extra 100-150 dollars? Ive been thinking about it for a while but cant seem to decide. I would like to hear any opinions please =). Thanks in advance. |

I'd do it. I just got my 4G 40GB today, and it's just dead sexy. I was going to get a Zen Xtra, but saw one in a store and was totally turned off. You can't go wrong with the pod, it's gorgeous. Menus are perfect, software is easy enough (I only use it to transfer). There aren't many bad points to it. You can get over 10 hours on a charge in normal use, which is fine for most people, only takes an hour to get 80% charge.
And even if the battery were to die, what's $80 to get it replaced in 3 years? Not that big of a deal if you ask me. I'd go for it if I were you

They'll replace the battery and send it back.
