I just took the plunge (literally- like 10 seconds ago) and ordered a 20gig 4g ipod direct from apple. I was just wonderin if it's possible to transfer files (not music) from a mac to a pc via the ipod?
Oh yea, and also for those of you who ordered from apple, how long did it take to arrive to your doorstep? Last edited by j!mi; 08-15-2004 at 07:05 PM. |

Welcome to the iPodlounge. You will have to set up the iPod on the PC first, because the Mac can read a windows formated iPod but the PC cannot read a Mac formated iPod. Then set the iPod to "manually manage songs and playlists" (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61131) to stop the iPod from auto sync'ing with iTunes. After that you can go to Start>My Computer and click on the iPod HD to open it and just drag-n-drop the files onto the HD to transfer them from one computer to the other.
