Audio problem - static cracking sound!

This is the actual email i had sent as a feedback to http://support.apple.com.au/feedback/ ->

iPod serial number: XXXXXXXXXXX
I've received my 4G iPod on 13th August. Was very happy, i did all the first time instructed stuff, & loaded songs in. Next i started listening as usual with maximum volume. After that i was shocked to hear what poor cheap speakers usually do, i heard VERY OBVIOUS cracking, hissing, electrical static sound when the song plays at high volume high pitches, it worked alright if the volume was at 80%.

I changed earphones, now to a SONY earphones. at 100% it was good, but i do hear alittle static sound which was very unobvious. This tells me that my iPod only has a very some bug problem, static. But i was fine with it as it wasnt obvious! There was no hissing no cracking no obvious electrical static...! (This SONY earphones came from the MD i bought with.)

Next i tried out both SONY and iPod stock headphones to my computer and tested it out. My soundcard was able to bring volumes up to 200%. With SONY stock earphones at 150% range it was playing very good still no hissing cracking static noises. But with iPod stock earphones it was EXTREMELY obvious about its hissing cracking static noises that it produced.

Thus this conclusion brought me to that iPod earphone was made of poor quality? Note that i even tried RESETTING the iPod even though i knew that it wasn't iPod's fault but it was its iPod stock earphone's problem. I've tried serveral other songs and signs still happened.

Would it be possible if i could confirm this with an certified iPod technician and get a top-up on a better earphones with either 'apple's ear-in earphones' or 'wired remote earphones' ? Please do call me if possible at XXXXXXXX only during the afternoon time after XPM.

Yours sincerely,
Mr XXX

I've replaced my iPod stock earphones with the new ones iPod centre supplied me with, it was a relieve when i got the new ones that was working flawlessly. Its been 4 days, today. This afternoon i experienced the same thing, when iPod volume was at 100%, the hissing cracking electrical static sound ####ed me ear off.

I had to go somewhere, my iPod is with me, volume at 80% to prevent hearing what ####es me. After sometime outside with iPod off, heading home i noticed that the #### sound was gone! Up till now. Very weird. By the way i put the whole iPod and earphones together in my pocket.. it might have something to do with magnet. Whenever i load songs into iPod i'll put my iPod directly above my CPU's power supply unit.. this might again be something to do with magnet.. Anybody experience the same problem as me?

Realizing there are reports of iPod static problems of various types/situations...... all things considered, volume at 100% I would expect some sort of distortion (static) and eventually burn-out of the stock earbuds....they are not high quality.
