Hi all
I hope some of you can help me. I have been using my iPod for about a week and I think I was using 2.1, and then the april update and everything was fine. But after I installed the 7-15 one, all the computer says is iPod can not be read by computer, reformat, and I have done this 10's of times. I have uninstalled this update and tried to use the update before it, but it comes up with the same message, so does anyone have any suggestions of how to fix this, or at least make my iPod work on the first update? This is a 3G 40gb by the way. Any help would be appreciated! Jase |

Did you try to reinstall the software, from the origional disc. Something became corrupt for me, and I had to start from scratch, but the origional disc did the trick.

Yea, I tried that. I deleted all signs of iPod, and started from scratch and it said the same thing

jwc...see my post four down below this one in the forum. wondering if reinstalling software from the iPod disc is what I need to do to get rid of original windows formatting. how do you totally clear it? factory reset? I tried doing that but did not reinstall anything using the disc that came with my 3G - 20GB pod.
