I just downloaded the MyPodPlayer and in the hack section, it has an option for deep sleep always feature. I know the boot up time will be longer, but what other damages can it do? Any significant battery saving with this feature or is it just annoying?
If no one replies, I will consider the matter as untested and begin reviewing this feature this week. FYI (for those who don't want to search for the diff on sleep) the iPod has two "off" modes: sleep and deep-sleep. Sleep is what happens when you leave your iPod not playing anything for about 2 minutes. it turns the screen off, and stops the hdd from spinning, keeps the cache full. when you press a button, the screen turn on, and iut is where you left off. Deep Sleep is what happens when you leave your iPod in sleep for about 2 days. when you press a button, it reboots the iPod, the same effect that you get when you reset your iPod [apple logo, then menu etc.]
