*EDIT* I read through some more of the forums and tried to switch the firewire port and my ipod seems okay, sorry for the dumbness ^^;; *EDIT*
Hello, I've recently began having troubles with my 10GB (3g? i got it when the non-scrolling wheel first came out) One day I put my iPod on the dock, and though it charged, my WinXP home did not detect it. I checked my device manager and there was an error with my FW card (code 10, "this device cannot start") I turned off my machine, waited a bit and restarted with my ipod still on the dock. the iPod was recognized but before loading my windows desktop, windows did a check on H: (my iPod) because it said it had a dirty drive. It went through okay, so i ignored it. The same thing happened again a couple of days later, and so i restarted, but this time, as windows was checking the drive, my ipod froze. I restarted my ipod and windows loaded and my ipod was recognized. I "restored" my ipod just in case. I ran itunes so it could load up my songs, but my ipod froze while trying to get the songs. I tried using ephod but it still kept freezing, i restored the ipod again and ran diagonistic tests and it came out okay with the ones that i tested, but my ipod is constnatly freezing now. I'm pretty sure it's the iPod that is the source of trouble and not the FW card because my ipod keeps freezing... though I don't have any other FW hardware to test the firewire card. I want to know if this is the iPod's problem and if so, if it's covered by the warentee, because mine is almost expired. I'm sorry if I wasn't too specific, please ask questions if you have any, thanks. *EDIT* I read through some more of the forums and tried to switch the firewire port and my ipod seems okay, sorry for the dumbness ^^;; *EDIT* Last edited by ykmm85; 04-26-2004 at 06:23 PM. |
