Not sure whats happening or how to fix it.
Ive added an album to iTunes. I close iTunes, plug in the classic 160, iTunes opens and starts to sync. As if right now, its been syncing for almost an hour and a half and still going, its like its syncing everything again. It does this every time i add even a couple songs. if i highlight "iPod" on the left column and click "music" i am brought to a page where "Sync Music" ( xxxx songs) is checked, below that is a box where "Entire music library" is ticked, if i try to un-tick that it tells me it will erase the entire library on the iPod. Any ideas on how to just update the new music? Thanks Edit: just after posting this i pulled up the iTunes window to find this error dialogue: "The iPod 'Ipod" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found." BUT the music i added to iTunes is present on the iPod. NOW what is happening? Last edited by nodnarB; 02-11-2013 at 04:25 AM. |

The iPod probably has a corrupt file, first try Resetting it by holding the centre and Menu buttons till it restarts. That failing you will have to try Restoring the iPod with iTunes. Restore will erase all files off the iPod and re-install its software. Your music will have to sync back over from the computer again.

I took the advice and reset the iPod, that didn't change the issue, but after i restored the iPod, everything is back to normal.
Thanks |

A Reset is relatively painless and should always be the first step.
Glad to hear you got it working. 64GB iPad 3, 64GB iPhone 5s, 1G 16GB touch, 4G & 6G Silver 16GB nano, 5G 60GB iPod, 1G AppleTV, 2G ATV, Late 2013 27" iMac |
