Hi new to the ilounge forum.Ihave a huge music library on my ipod and computer, but my computer has been running really slow so I decided to transfer the contents of my computer to a 250gb external hard drive to free up space, I left it on over nite cus it was taken ages and the next morning the computer had crashed, and I have lost half my music library .So I am scared to sync the ipod to the computer because I have been told from a friend that I will lose all my itunes on the ipod because half of them are missing on the computer is there away round this so I dont lose anything Cheers for any future help and responses

I suspect your computer was having problems before this happened. You should keep at least 2 copies of your media files, and do not consider the iPod as a copy due to it's vulnerabilities. Once you have your computer running good again rebuild the iTunes Library then keep another copy on the external just in case it happens again.
