Quick roundup for jailbreaking 1st Gen Touch

Right, basically ive got 2 touch's at the moment and my old 1st Gen is beginning to play up slightly so I thought rather than putting it away to rot with all my other dead iPod that instead I would jailbreak it see what fun I can have with it until it finally goes capoot.

I've always been reluctant to jailbreak it in the past as the warranty get cancelled out once it been done, but now I dont have any excuses not too.

As a complete newbie to the jailbreaking process (I've read a few articles on it the past but neve looked into it too deeply) would anybody out there be able to point me in the direction of a very good and reliable tutorial on jailbreaking? I've seen a few videos on youtube but id rather here it from some of you guys with experience already and see where you guys get your info from, etc.

Also I've also picked up that its more difficulty jailbreaking on PC's rather than Macs? and that therehas been some trouble with the current 3.1 FW upgrades? its my old 1st Gen 32gig with current 3.1.1 FW on it. Is it actually possible to crack it at the time? or do we need to wait until theres some sort of program/crack/whatever for this FW?
