Hey,
I have the 30 gb model of IPOD. I was using it in my truck the other day and I heard a funny noise comming from it over the car speakers (I have an fm transmitter) then nothing. When I got home i put a pair of headphones on it and still nothing. I have reloaded the firmwhere on the unit and still I have nothing. The time moves on the screen and everything else. I am at a loss on what is wrong with my ipod any thoughts on it? Thanks!

Perhaps your headphone jack is toast. They are a user replaceable part if you're so inclined.

It's both the dock connector where I attach my fm transmitter and the headphone jack.

Ahhh....perhaps your logic board is toast. They are user replaceable, too, if you're electronically inclined.
