i have all my music organized via band name -> cd title.....when i sync it to my ipod (160gb classic) one of the cds splits itself in to 2 folders, under the same cd name, one with 6 songs and the other with 10. all tags are the same ( no spaces, etc) ...i can't figure out wsy this is doing this and it's ticking me off...any ideas/!@?!? thanks!!

I know you said the tags are the same, but look very closely ... group-select the entire album and go to Get Info. Any fields that are blank indicate there is a difference (or the field really is blank for all songs). If you see a field that is blank that should have information in it, that's where there is a problem. Usually this is caused by the Album Artist being populated for only some songs, but other differences can do it too.

How about the "extended fields" in Get Info, like Sorting Options or "Part of a Compilation"?

How does the album look in iTunes' grid view or Coverflow view? Same as your iPod? If not, then you need to replace the copies of the songs on your iPod with those from your library (either re-sync, or if in manual mode delete from the iPod and drag fresh copies over).
If you see the same problem in iTunes (in grid or Coverflow) then you need to keep working at the tags. I promise you, there is a difference in the tags causing this. There are countless others who have come this way with this problem and eventually a lightbulb moment occurs ... |

I have had issues with this before myself. Rockmyplimsoul is right, it is a tag issue. Check everything. The year of release on all the songs the same? Track # of # - do all the songs have both those fields filled in. Copy the artists name from one group and paste it to all the songs of the other group. Trust us, it is in there somewhere. I have given up on an album like this and went back to it weeks later and found the issue.
