The 2.0 Jailbreak has no installer.app

For all of us who are long time installer.app fans having a 2.0 jailbreak without it is just no joy.

I am starting to think many of us with 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 jailbreaks who have lots of apps and things working very well may never find joy in 2.0.

From what I am reading some of the apps we all love don't all work in 2.0 and when installer.app is one of them we have a big issue. Now I know in time they may fix it but for now we have a jailbreak that can only work on a MAC and when you do jailbreak many of the old apps you love are no longer around.

In the time between many old jailbreak users are moving to 2.0 without any jailbreak. I wonder if it takes much longer to get all of the old functionality working in 2.0 and a jailbreak out for PC how many people who once had jailbroken devices will still be around?

Or will the lion share of them have moved on to 2.0 and have the jailbreaking as a thing of the past?

I think in the end 2.0 will significantly shrink the jailbreak community and with that smaller community of users less developers and less apps. This whole jailbreak "apps" thing could become a footnote in time of the iphone/ipod touch.

NOTE: I know people still need unlocked phones but that is a different story.

I've upgraded to 2.0 via the windows workaround for the pwnage 2.0 release. I have both the app store and Cydia for apps, and both seem to work fine side by side.

I was under the understanding that Cydia is not installer.app and may of the apps under installer are not listed under Cydia.

I've used bopth the installer.app when I did jailbreak via ziphone and Cydia and the apps are the same, I think Cydia is just a different installer.app interface to the same thing. I see no difference, but Cydia is much better IMO. I am still realitvely new to jailbreaking, however, but I see no big difference.

NOTE: Installer apps do not seem to be working with the 2.0 upgrade, Apple apps do work.
