Question battery gauge

I charged my battery over night and in the morning the icon on the screen said charged but when I unplugged it the gauge said only half charged.

Is this a battery problem or just the gauge?

this is most likely a gauge problem....I've seen a bunch of iPods that don't show the accurate amount of battery life but still achieve it. If you want to be positive, try doing the tests that they (ipodlounge article) did and compare your results. If it is drastically different, exchange your mini at an apple store or whevever you bought it.

Meh!

Like Dragon_Flight says--most likely a guage problem.

After fully charging my iPod 3g, the guauge will only read about 1/2 full on first use. After I've used it for awhile, the guage will slowly increase until it reports a fully charged iPod.

so what this test is saying is that if you are picking songs one after the other for lets say 4 hours, the battery will die at about 5 hours of playing time?

it takes a while for the battery gauge to react if you keep your pod off during charging.

ive experienced it every morning, it just takes about five minutes before the correct charge level displays.
