Hello again..
Well, I managed to sell my broken 5.5 on eBay and I have now just ordered a brand new Classic to replace it. This does mean that my trusty leather case for my 5.5 will be too big for my Classic. I have seen some really cheap cases on eBay but fear these may scratch the iPod - any of you know of a tried and tested Leather/or other case from the 80Gb iPod Classic? Cheers once again in advance!

I have a black, w/ brown piping, leather Belkin folio case. Had it for a few months now. Haven't noticed any scratches. Probably worth checking out if that is the case style you like most.

i know it's not leather, but i have a contour design showcase, it's really slim and doesn't add too much bulk to the ipod, and the rubber padding/siding (or whatever you wanna call it) really protects it from drops, etc. it looks really nice and the case and the hinges on the side sort of vacuums it shut when you close it so no dust or debris can get in. my only complaint is that the screen gets scratched relatively easily, but i keep my ipod and keys in the same pocket so i'm sure if you kept it seperate the screen would stay in good shape.... hope that helps!

If you like the look of the classic and your worried mostly about scratches, I love my Shades case.
It is not really going to protect in a fall, but it works for scratch protection and allows you to keep the case on while using accessories. |

Sorry to hear about you losing your 5.5. I would never give up on my 5.5 and i would never own a classic as long as there are NEW 5.5s on e-bay.
that said, i LOVE my Speck Toughskin case. they make a version for the Classic too. that and BSE keep my ipod ULTRA protected. mike |

i had a really nice case from WaterField Designs for my ipod. it had a flip-up cover for access to the controls, and a belt clip which was perfect for the shoulder strap of my bag (as i walked to/from work). unfortunately that ipod no longer works, so i got an 80 GB classic as a replacement. i immediately went to the same site and purchased a new case to go with the new ipod.
i got their Smart Case in black. it doesn't have the flip-up cover, but same quality material and belt clip, which is key for me.

Well thanks for all your comments - just to let you kniw that in the end I went for i-nique Tuff-Luv® Classic Leather case cover, the ipod fits in almost perfectly and I do love the style of it.
Incidently - I also have a White leather iPod case for my old 5.5 gen iPod (the one that broke) I have tried selling it without any joy, if any of you guys want it then you can have it (FREE) just pay for the postage and it's yours. [I] am based in the UK so UK shipping would be easier. |
