Question Malfunctioning jailbroken iPod touch

Hi everyone, I'd appreciate it if someone could give me some good advice. I recently received an iPod touch for Christmas, and I absolutely love it. Once I learned how to jailbreak it, I liked it even more. But now, my iPod has a problem - it won't turn on, no matter what I do. I made sure that it's fully charged, iTunes doesn't recognize it when I plug it in, and I even tried force restoring it, but nothing is working. It just won't turn on. So in light of this, I'm almost certain that there is some sort of a hardware error. It is still under the warranty, however, with it being jailbroken (which, if I'm not mistaken, voids your warranty), I'm not sure how I should go about repairing my iPod. Should I still send it in to Apple? Or should I try some alternative? Thanks.

If you tired force restoring and nothing happend, then you are left no option but to send it in for service. I have not heard of jailbreaking causing this issue. It sounds like a hardware failure of some sort.

Good Luck

Thanks. I just don't want Apple to say that they can't repair it if they find out it's jailbroken. I think that would be completely unfair anyway, seeing as how it's a hardware error, not a software error.

If they find out its been Jailbroken, they must have got the device in some sort of working order, from which you would possibly be able to force restore. Or if they have some way of force restoring, then the jailbreak would be lost, and they wouldn't know.

Roll the dice and send it in. You might get lucky.

Question Ipod won't turn on

This doensn't have to do with your blog but i hope you get a new ipod. Anyway, I got my 8gig ipod touch about a month ago. I was downloading new songs and apps last night. I havn't jailbroken or done anything bad to it, i've taken very good care of it. I unplugged it from the computer and it worked perfectly. I shut it off and tried to turn it back on about a minute later and it wouldn't turn on nomatter what i did. It still doesn't work 24 hrs later.

What should I do?
Thanks

The exact same thing happened to me, but it happened while i was jailbreaking it. Iv sent it into Apple for repair, and hopefully they won't send it back without being repaired.
