Corrupted - keeps asking to restore

Hello,

I hooked up my Ipod to Itunes to sync it and got a message saying it was corrupted and to restore it to factory settings.

So I did that, and re-attached it and it just says it again... This has happened a few times now. The restoring seems not to be working and I'm not sure what to do next.

I have the latest version of Itunes (fairly recently updated) and am on Vista, if this helps.

Any ideas?

Does it sync any files before giving you the message again or is it doing it right after restoring before putting anything back on the iPod?

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and then restore the iPod again.

>Change the ipod's drive letter to x or z. the instructions here are for xp, but it's really the same for vista too.

>Shut down your computer, unplug the ipod.
>Put the ipod into disk mode (hold menu and center unti apple appears then immediately hold center and play)
>Restart the computer, then plug the ipod in to a dfiferent port.
>Click Start, then Computer,
>Double click the ipod to open it up. You should see "ipod control". If you don't, then click or Oranize, folder and search options, then the view tab.
under advance settings select "show hidden files and folders"
>Ipod control should show up. Delete it.
>Open Itunes and restore. You might have to do this twice.

>You can try re-registering .dll files. The article is for XP but is the same procedure for Vista generally.

Also make sure that your other usb devices are unplugged. mice and keyboards don't mater.
