1.1.3 confused

Guys I want to upgrade to jailbreak 1.1.3 via the icon on my touch and have a couple of questions

1. Do I need the 160mb of free space in my system partion, I only have 124 after moving stuff about.

2. Does Summerboard, Customise and Apollo still work and are visable icons?

Thx

Don't know about the system partition for sure, but I'd doubt it since installer downloads its stuff to the media partition.

summerboard and customize currently do not work on 1.1.3, don't know about apollo.
I don't know what you mean by "visible icons" ... ?

I have read many times that the apps shortcuts disapear, but if you look in installer they are still shown as installed.

Depends - the first "official" Installer-based jailbreak by Skylar said you needed to have the 160MB on your system partition. The subsequent ones by Ipodtouchmaster & modiphone however don't.

You'll lose all your apps with a 1.1.3 jailbreak and have to reinstall... that's the only thing I found really frustrating...

well, yeah. the problem is that a firmware upgrade wipes your system partition which deletes all installed apps. but the file where the installers keeps the list of installed apps is on the media partition, which is unaltered by the firmware upgrade.
so best thing is to restore your ipod, downgrade to 1.1.1 and do a jailbreak from scratch.

there aren't really any if you take the jailbreak from the installer. there were some problems at first because the first jailbreak available installed the iphone firmware on your touch. but with the new method that uses the ipod touch firmware you should be fine.

and 1.1.3 allows you to install the $20 app pack for free, which is kinda cool ...
