JailBreak 1.1.3 Completed!

I was excited and just wanted to announce this to you all. 1.1.3 has been successfully Jailbroken!

But now to the bad news…you still have to wait for it. The Jailbreak for 1.1.3 is not going to be released until Apple releases the Standard Developers Kit (SDK) sometime in February. I’m not exactly sure why they are waiting to release the jailbreak. The only thing that comes to my mind is that they are doing this so Apple can’t patch the 1.1.3 Jailbreak when SDK is released.

You can check out my Jailbreak 1.1.3 update post for more information.

Here is video confirming the 1.1.3 Jailbreak. It shows the user moving around the icons and using installer on firmware 1.1.3.

nice, let's me hope.
I still wonder why oktoprep doesn't work on 1.1.3 (it doesn't, right?).
Since it survives a firmware upgrade oktoprep has to be stored on the media-partition. and since nothing has changed on that partition, I don't know why it doesn't work anymore. strange ^^ well, what you gonna do

regards

The other bad news is it looks like it requires a hardware mod. Of course they don't say what that is.

"Update: We’ve also learned that the jailbreak method requires hardware modification"

Hardware modification? Hmm, don't like the sound of that.

Well supposedly the crew behind that 1.1.3 jailbreak are now saying that it does not require a hardware mod.

Thought it should be noted that I have no source for this information other than internet forum rumor and innuendo (MacRumors.com Forums in particular).

I bet apple got a little excited there when they heard HARDWARE mod

There is a question I have. Does the jailbreak for 1.1.3 allow you to use the apps Apple installed onto Touches with the 1.1.3 update or is it the apps from 3rd parties?
