Maybe I should have done more research first, but i took it for granted that the Ipod Classic can ONLY output 480p with the new component cables. Is that correct?? So u have to have a HDTV for use with these cables and if I want to use it on a SDTV, i have to shell out another $50 for the composite cables, which dont even offer s-video, Am I correct in all of this?? Found out tonite the my new component cables don't work on my SDTV even tho it does have the component hookups. Needless to say, i'm disappointed.

There should be no reason why the cables won't work on an SDTV. It should still output a 480i signal.
