I bought an ipod classic 80gb yesterday and was working fine, til it froze after one of the videos finishing playing, I tried the menu+ select trick, but instead of getting the apple logo it switched off completely , unable to turn back on, tried charging via itunes but neither itunes or the laptop recognised thew iPod

return it to apple store, tell them what happened I'm sure they will replace it gladly, maybe because of faulty assembly during Christmas season, you know.... they have to build many iPods..

I bought it at Micro Anvika in tottenham court road, but im sure theyll do the same.
