When you first connect the iPod to another computer's iTunes, a dialog will pop up asking if you want to sync the iPod with that computer; just say no ;-) At that point, you can select the iPod in the iTunes source list, and then check the "Manually manage music and videos" box on the iPod's Summary tab, and then click OK button.
Now you can add tracks from that machine's iTunes onto your iPod by drag'n'drop. The iPod will remain in "manual" mode until you change it back to sync mode (by unchecking that same box in the Summary tab). Anticipating your next question ("How to move iTunes from old 'puter to new?") -- do you currently keep your iTunes tracks in their "default" location on the C: drive, or do you use an external drive (or something else)? Moving your iTunes collection is easy; just needs right information to start from. |
