Itunes Tutorial (first time user)

this is my first time having an ipod video can somebody give me instructions on how to sync it with itunes and put music and videos on it?

i have the usb cable, i tried doing it once and it worked but then when i tried adding more music it deleted everything in it

You will need to learn what "syncing" means on an iPod. When you set to automatic, the iPod mirrors iTunes, if you don't want a direct mirror of your iPod you'll need to set to "manually manage songs and videos", but you lose some of the benefits of autosync.
