Lost all my tunes!! Help

I have a 80g 5th Gen ipod. My software and my iTunes software is fully up to date.
Today, I sat my iPod in its cradle and plugged in to my PC as usual to "sync" my ipod as I had downloaded some new music and audiobooks. I have been doing the exact same thing for over a year and had no problems.

I then discover that although my photos and games are still on my ipod, the Menus tell me that there are no tunes at all (previously I had over 2600!!!)

I have switched off and od, reset and all the rest - no difference. I have ever put my ipod back to the default settings and started again. The upload looks like it is working, the ipod on iTunes suggests that it is loading (with all the tunes greyed out).

Then when all is finished and I disconnect to listen to my iPod I get no tunes or music or audiobooks!!

Please help if you can? Thank you

Welcome to iLounge.

Double check the software versions on your iPod in the about section (are you running firmware 1.2.2?).

Then double check what versions of iTunes you are running. Don't tell me off the top of your head. Check the properties and tell us what version you have installed.

You say you are up to date, but let's confirm what versions you are running before we trouble shoot further.

Double check that you are updated to iTunes 7.5.

People with iPod software 1.2.2 but an iTunes earlier than 7.5 have reported the issue you are speaking of.

Stuart - I am so sorry to be so thick! I was not on 7.5 and only on 7.

I will update immediately and I am sure that will sort it.

My apologies once again but sincere thanks for your help.

No need to apologize. I had to ask because I didn't want to give you a bunch of suggestions just to find out you really weren't current

Happy iPodding!
