How do stop playing a song

Seems like all i can do is pause it

Even when i go to menu and shut off the ipod when i turn it back on the song is dtill in Now playing.

I want to be able to clear the now playing..

I sometimes have to go to album and go through all the songs on the album to get it stop,

Any help would be great

thanks

We haven't had this one in a while....

Stop really isn't needed. No such thing when the playing mechanism has no moving parts.

To easily remove things from now playing, though, if this is what you want, do one of two things. Either pick any playlist and start playing in it and then press the back button, this will essentially stop the entire thing. You can do this with any playlist.

Alternatively you can make a playlist with a song file that has like one second of nothing, call it "stop" play it and once it's done, the now playing will be cleared.

Good luck!

For most people it's not an issue.

I'd rather it be able to start right where I left off.

But this is me.

The difference between stop/pause is all in peoples heads. I can't even think of any real reason to "clear" now playing. I mean if you start it up again you just go and find something else and fill it with some else. But to each there own!

If it really drives one crazy you can always soft reset the iPod as well to clear it all out (some playcounts, play dates could be lost).
